What is ‘Freedom in Christ’?

17 May 2020 Sunday Morning Service

Bible
Leviticus 11:41-47
Colossians 2:13-17

Leviticus
11:41 “‘Every creature that moves about on the ground is detestable; it is not to be eaten.
11:42 You are not to eat any creature that moves about on the ground, whether it moves on its belly or walks on all fours or on many feet; it is detestable.
11:43 Do not defile yourselves by any of these creatures. Do not make yourselves unclean by means of them or be made unclean by them.
11:44 I am the LORD your God; consecrate yourselves and be holy, because I am holy. Do not make yourselves unclean by any creature that moves about on the ground.
11:45 I am the LORD who brought you up out of Egypt to be your God; therefore be holy, because I am holy.
11:46 “‘These are the regulations concerning animals, birds, every living thing that moves in the water and every creature that moves about on the ground.
11:47 You must distinguish between the unclean and the clean, between living creatures that may be eaten and those that may not be eaten.'”

Colossians
2:13 When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your sinful nature, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins,
2:14 having canceled the written code, with its regulations, that was against us and that stood opposed to us; he took it away, nailing it to the cross.
2:15 And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.
2:16 Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day.
2:17 These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ.
