OT Isaiah 55 : 1 – 5
NT Colossians 1 : 24 – 29
Isaiah
55:1 “Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost.
55:2 Why spend money on what is not bread, and your labor on what does not satisfy? Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good, and your soul will delight in the richest of fare.
55:3 Give ear and come to me; hear me, that your soul may live. I will make an everlasting covenant with you, my faithful love promised to David.
55:4 See, I have made him a witness to the peoples, a leader and commander of the peoples.
55:5 Surely you will summon nations you know not, and nations that do not know you will hasten to you, because of the LORD your God, the Holy One of Israel, for he has endowed you with splendor.”
Colossians
1:24 Now I rejoice in what was suffered for you, and I fill up in my flesh what is still lacking in regard to Christ’s afflictions, for the sake of his body, which is the church.
1:25 I have become its servant by the commission God gave me to present to you the word of God in its fullness–
1:26 the mystery that has been kept hidden for ages and generations, but is now disclosed to the saints.
1:27 To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
1:28 We proclaim him, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone perfect in Christ.
1:29 To this end I labor, struggling with all his energy, which so powerfully works in me.
